Projects Department

Projects Department aims to create a vibrant school environment going beyond academics to foster a sense of identity and togetherness amongst students. Events are carefully planned by dedicated committee members for students to get away from their books for a moment to enjoy themselves. Our past events include overnight pajamas movie marathons, games carnivals, food hunts, Halloween fright night, Dinner and Dance as well as the annual crowning of our own Mr and Ms SIM-UOL. There is nothing we can't do. Join us for an experience like no other!

Being active and involved in the student activities of the school gave me a chance to serve the school’s council as Head of Projects Department. The presence of us is to serve as a platform between the school's management and student body.
I hope to foster a sense of identity and belonging to every member; create a holistic and engaging experience for all members and to represent the student body.
Being sincere and possess a strong sense of humility will be a vital key to managing the department. It has given me a clear lead and direction to the ideal student development I seek for to achieve in my term of service and beyond. It is not all about events planning; it is about creating more opportunities and to foster friendships within the department and across the entire council. We party hard, work hard & learn as a team! I’m confident that this will be a life-changing experience for all.

As one of the deputy head of the Projects Department, I will work closely with Maybelle and ShiRui to bring about fresh and exciting project events such as Fright Night, Food Hunt, Bash and Pageant for SIM-UOL students. These events will help students gain valuable experience that cannot be learnt during lectures. I hope to create a platform for students to be more involved in school activities and make new friends in the process.
Being part of the Student Representative Council for the past 2 years has taught me a lot and I hope to use my experience to guide the new members during event planning .
This SRC experience does not stop at event planning. One of my roles would be to foster new friendship bonds within the Projects Department and across SRC itself.

Despite having spent only a work year in SRC, it provided an excellent platform for me to contribute to the school and also the privilege of forging new friendships. I had a very pleasant work year in which I was given the opportunity to grow as a person and also to learn from my peers. It is precisely this reason, which drives me to want to be able to share this experience with the many other peers in school. I look forward to working with a new team and to share as well as learn together, as we continue the tremendous job by the previous excos.
