Food Review: KokoMama Marketplace's Bingsu

October 18, 2016

Kokomama Marketplace, located at the ground floor of the School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA), is a rustic canteen concept eatery that serves a variety of food. From pastries, curry rice, and salted egg croissants to its popular Bingsu desserts.

Conveniently located at the center of the city, KokoMama is definitely an excellent place for friends to catch up over desserts. The famous “pirate barrel” game is provided for small gatherings where you can have fun while waiting for food to be served. What’s not to love.

With the blazing weather in Singapore now, Kokomama is a must-visit for its signature Korean Shaved Ice a.k.a Bingsu. They serve 8 varieties of Bingsu to try from.

These include:

1.Mango Madness

5.Milo Dinosaur

2.Snappy Strawberry

6.Chocolate Monster

3.Milky Oreo

7.Cheesy Cheesecake

4.Matcha Craze

8.Yogurt Fruity Fair

Team Ratings

Milky Oreo (9/10)

The name says it all. If you have a weakness for Oreos, we highly recommend the tantalizing Milky Oreo. Fusion of rich milk flavour and the crunch of oreo bits, no one can resist but have another spoon.

Matcha Craze (8/10)

If you are a lover for Matcha, this bowl of bingsu is not to be missed. Topped with green tea ice cream, red bean, almond, and walnuts, this Matcha Craze’s taste has a way to surprise you. Not too sweet, yet refreshing and simply indescribably good. Also, did I mention that Walnuts are good for you?

Oh yes, you can request for additional condensed milk if you prefer it to be more milky or sweeter too. Now you don’t have to travel to Korea or Japan to always satisfy your cravings.

Milo Dinosaur (5/10)

Topped with chocolate ice cream, dinosaur gummy, waffle biscuits, chocolate sticks and the milo powder, this selection is definitely customised to the Milo cum chocolate lovers.

While Milo Dinosaur is a popular choice in Singapore, we find that the taste doesn’t quite compliment with Bingsu. Though it has a unique taste, it may not be for everyone. So by all means if you are a Milo lover, you should go and try it. It could probably surprise your taste buds in a way or two. Not to mention the cooling sensation Bingsu gives.
